Manila has so much potential. The city and it’s country are only beginning to realize some of its potential.

Most of us were not around during the 1900s.

Though from what we could remember about then, they were times when Industrialism & Entrepreneurial were in full swing. Think Carnegie, the Ford, Firestone, Morgan.

It is 2010, yet in so many ways Manila still physically represents scenes like this:

New York City Early 1900s

It’s really Amazing! Time Travel doesn’t seem possible. But not only are we in a time zone 12 hours ahead of New York City, but it feels like New York City in 1900 — at times.

Worldwide, one could think that ‘Developed’ Western Economies better re-think what they have done and where they are going, and whether they think they will attempt to drag the entire world down with them.

The higher you are, the higher you fall.

These Developing Nations, such as the Philippines have nowhere to go but up! Brazil, Russia, India, China simply lead the pack. Many others are more nimble, smaller, and resourceful.

Could also why they called me ‘old man’ in junior high.

Anyway -- I enjoy Doo Wop and Motown a lot. Always have, Always will. So I’m sharing this great track with you tonight, on Bataan Day. Anniversary of the Bataan Death March. I’m sure the many who died had missed their sweet hearts while being marched on down from San Fernando to Bataan. May God Bless their souls.

My love must be a kind of blind love
I can’t see anyone but you.

Are the stars out tonight?
I don’t know if it’s cloudy or bright
I Only Have Eyes For You, Dear.

The moon maybe high
but I can’t see a thing in the sky,
‘Cause I Only Have Eyes For You.

I don’t know if we’re in a garden,
or on a crowded avenue.

You are here
So am I
Maybe millions of people go by,
but they all disappear from view.
And I Only Have Eyes For You.

Living abroad for almost two consecutive years sometimes you need reminders where you’re from.

Today I’m remembering, Today I’m planning to get back for an extended period of time. Manila -- The Philippines is developing, and so am I. We’ll meet again soon. The goal is to do Six Months and Six Months. Six Months split between the Providence -- New Bedford -- Fall River MSA, the Boston -- Quincy -- Cambridge MSA, and the Orlando -- Daytona Beach -- Kissimmee MSA. For those of you who don’t know what MSA is -- it’s Metropolitan Statisical Area. It’s usually the area the radio stations reach and they itemize for Nielsen Ratings and such.

Great song for this, by the Standells, I love that Dirty Water.

Oh, Boston you’re my home.

In my near two years in manila I never met as many tech -oriented Entrepreneurs as I have met back at my home area. Providence, Boston, Nashua, Fall River, Brockton, Cambridge. Manila -- you are awesome. I love you. For many different reasons. I feel Manila will someday be the techno-hub of Asia. For now it’s still Tokyo.

Was looking for something to flush out my liver and restore my health. Results in a few days have been toxic boils appearing, draining, overall my skin getting smoother and clearer. Ask me again next week, but this stuff is definitely working.

Back when I lived in Orlando, my Indian friends had recommended it as an anti-inflammatory agent against some recurring skin boils I had. Back then I was only mixing Turmeric with Luke Warm water and just downin it. The taste was horrible disturbing I would almost vomit. I’m so happy the Philippines awakened me to Salabat (ginger tea), and therefore was encouraged to mix and mash the two keywords, search it on google and voila- Turmeric + Ginger Tea. Tastes Much Better!

Here’s the recipe:

Ginger Root, Cut up a bunch, Stronger the Better

Turmeric, 1TBSP

Sugar, 1TBSP

Pepper, 1Tsp

Procedure:

Fill Pot with Distilled/Spring Water. Cut up Ginger Root. Bring water to a boil, dump the sliced Ginger Root in the boiling water. Add Turmeric and Pepper, Put cover Back on. Let simmer for 10-15 Minutes. Put sugar in your mug as you would with coffee. Pour tea into mug filtering the ginger root with a fork or strainer.

Drink 3 Times per day. Follow with 1 Liter of Water after each serving. Reason is that Turmeric is very dangerous when not hydrated. It will severely de-hydrate you. So Far, I’m on two days but my goal is 10. This is to flush out my liver for all these years, I started in High School, of heavy smoking and drinking.

I bet this will cost you less than USD$10 for the entire 10 days. One Dollar a day your liver is now in-play. Don’t listen to those bozos trying to sell you $100 a month detox plans. Use natures elements. Ayurvedic medicine is something to be admired, and I would trust any Practitioner of Ayurvedic Medicine anyday over Western Government-Industrial-Complex doctors.

Why the pepper? Something special happens when Pepper meets Curcumin, the active resulting compound of the Turmeric Root.

If you are fortunate enough to live in a tropical environment and young coconut is readily available, I would drink it until you drown.

Benefits:

Liver Cleansing

gastrointestinal remedy,

wounds and skin infections

chronic stomach upsets

gastrointestinal disorders

ya know meng, finding myself cheating on a pushup new years resolution

new years resolution reflected in august

since inception of the year 2009 the absolute destination of the journey was to be at 100 pushups per day all year. somedays i had set to bang out 100 thru sets of 4. it was my full intent to pump out 25 in one set, yet after the second set i’d whimper a mere 15. while heading down and back up 15 , the lazy impervious thought came into mind ah i don’t need to keep going.

bad voice pushup

whats that saying? – always listen to that inner voice? listen to your body?

why is my body telling me to give up?

why couldn’t even a healthy chain-smoking 24 year old stand to do 65 pushups over 30 minutes?

albeit, at the end of an ambitious january, recollection, accounting and reflection came to the erred conclusion of not continuing seriously the pushups. why was this? never hit the absolutely poach-able target, perceived ‘do-able’ in absolute certainty. wishy-washy certainty?

this was a new years resolution

66.666666666666666667% of a years’ time passed:

why is it that the New Years Resolution is associated with failure?

This leads to the question that started this blog post – What if the inner voices, the hunches, the bodies’ voices are slightly off key?

this morning it was nice find, a timely 100 sets of 3, topped off by a slow 10 rep -

10000 pushups

how can certainty be delivered if one is NOT certain?

One thing obvious
is; A Game Is a Finite Period of Challenge.
The “Game of Life” seems so undefined in so many ways …
Could the “Game of Life” have an infinite Period of Challenge?
Do we live a lifespan or a lifeSpaM?
